I recently pushed out an update to the Conclave on the status of the books and a few changes that have been in the works for awhile. In the midst of these changes, I realized that I had forgotten to update the rest of you. Plus, there have been updates since, so let’s get into it.
Some of you may have noticed the recent changes in the covers for the books. Some of you probably haven’t. If not, then yes–the books all have new covers. They have all undergone a slight polish as well, plus the ebook files themselves have been streamlined with better Tables of Contents, better images, and an updated look. Also, the prologues have been removed. Perhaps they will return at some future date, but for now, they are gone.
I’ve gone and produced new editions of the paperbacks as well, complete with the beautiful new covers. However, Amazon’s quality program has been returning my files with errors when none exist. This has resulted in me tearing my hair out for the last few days trying to fix it, and older versions of the paperbacks being sold alongside the newer versions of the ebooks.
This cannot stand. I’ve been really angry that the new paperbacks weren’t ready for Christmas, but it’s my own fault for trying to upload these through a beta program (KDP’s Paperback Application). Both myself and the cover artist–who’s awesome, yeah?–worked hard to get the files together for the holiday season, and Amazon put a big fat roadblock in the way.
So, as of today, I will be pulling the paperback editions for Child of the Flames, The Knife in the Dark, and The Old Man of the Temple down until further notice. I’m exploring other paperback options and am planning to re-release the new editions of the paperbacks on Amazon and other retailers. Stay tuned for more.
Now for the biggest announcement–I can now say that it’s official, there will be audiobooks produced for Child of the Flames, The Knife in the Dark, and The Old Man of the Temple. They’re being produced by the very capable folks at Whole Story QUEST, and are intended to be out for pre-order very soon. I don’t have information yet on narrators, nor do I have release dates, but I will be keeping you all informed. Stay tuned for more.
Still working on The City Under the Mountain and the next installment of The Ballad of the Outrider. I know it’s taking forever, believe me. I’m working hard on them, trying to get everything finished up. Now that most of the distractions are out of the way (knock on wood) I have turned my attention back to them.
Enjoy those covers up there. I doubt I need to explain them. Much love to all of you, and here’s to an awesome new year.
